P.R.O.U.D. – Parents, Relatives & Other Understanding Down’s - is a parent led support group (based in Walsall, UK) which meets on the first Saturday of every month 2pm-4pm.
They use The Hothouse Myatt Avenue Aldridge as their main venue which is a purpose built childrens venue, with special needs toys, a playstation, table top football and air hockey.
They organise trips out and various fundraising events throughout the year.
Their aims are to provide for the needs of individuals with Down’s syndrome…
- To offer support, acceptance, advice and encouragement for parents, carers, family and friends of persons with Down’s syndrome.
- To increase awareness and knowledge of issues relating to Down’s syndrome.
- To educate the community about the presence, the potential and the needs of people with Down’s syndrome.
This group is open to anyone who is a parent, relatives, carers, and friends of people with Down’s syndrome.
